My Journey

1994 was the year I decided with my best friend over dim-sum (Chinese tapas style lunch) that we were going to take off for a new life in Hong Kong. She had just left her work with the Toronto Stock Exchange and looking for work. I was working in hospital labs as a Medical Technologist and quite happy doing what I was doing but again, when I looked at the long-term picture, I knew it was just “comfortable”. Within an hour of talking, we both made a solid decision to “jump ship” and one month later, we were on the airplane with only $1000 in each our pockets heading to the land of opportunities. Little did I even consider that $1000 does NOT go very far in Hong Kong and needless to say, I ran out of money within 3 weeks of our arrival.

So there I was… 25 years old, no money, no job, no relevant business experience and not enough qualification to work in Hong Kong’s healthcare system. I dreamed of attaining financial freedom and retiring before the age of 50 and that was the moment I set forth a goal to achieve success.

That goal was definitely a stretch. The circumstances I was born into revolved around struggle and limitations. My parents had no freedom, they were bound to 14 hour work days, 360 days a year in our family restaurant. I was taught limitations from a very young age. I was bullied on a societal level through racism and prejudice. Poverty is what we knew and survival was what I should have striven for. None of this stopped me from pushing those boundaries, those externally imposed limits. I didn’t have a clue how I was going to get to my dream but all I knew was that it was going to happen and I was willing to do everything to get there.

That decision changed the trajectory of my life leading to a transformational journey. I became hyper focused in finding and understanding myself, overcoming hardships in survival, taking the greatest risks in challenging my limits, conquered my greatest fears and asserting my own self-worth.

My coaching career began when I went into sales at the age of 27. My significant scope of business experience, having lived and worked in Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore, includes a rich and diverse background in Health and Fitness, to Sales & Marketing and Financial Services/Stock Markets. This path has enabled me to develop strong leadership abilities to work with people at all levels achieve great success in their life. I discovered that the most effective and successful leaders mentored not only based on skillset training but about life skills and strategies.

My strong desire to understand and study the mechanisms of success took me on a journey that led me to meet the greatest success expert and now my mentor, Bob Proctor. I have spent the last 30 years developing my understanding of how to get the results we want by putting the minimal effort. It’s called working smart, not working hard. Today I am a certified Consultant for Bob and licensed by him to teach his incredible life transformational material. His work is the perfect synergy with my own results-driven and focused approach to life. As a Mind Mastery & Success Coach, I am passionate about helping people transform and break through life’s barriers. Together with Bob and his team, nothing gives me greater pleasure than to help people achieve their dreams within a short period of time through changing paradigms and space time repetition strategies. Working smart is what brings on exponential growth and results, not working hard.

The greatest insight I gained over my life was that I am no different from anyone else in this world. I don’t have super powers nor have I had any advantages that enabled me to achieve great success. What I have achieved is something anyone can do. It’s just a matter of priorities and choice. My focus was growth through personal development. I spent my life acknowledging my fears and then taking every action to overcome them by facing them head-on. Change became my best friend and I became very comfortable in the uncomfortable.

Today, I achieved my dream… not only have I attained the financial freedom to retire from the Corporate world with a wonderful husband of 10 years Kevin and stepson Andrew.   Now I am ready to embark onto the next phase of my life which is to do the things that I am passionate about; to share everything I’ve learned in my life packaged in a message that will empower everyone in the world to know that life is very simple and that it IS possible to create anything and everything we desire. I will give you the framework and mindset that will enable you to be the person you want to be, to live the life you are meant to live. My only wish is to impact everyone that comes across my path in the most positive and empowering way and to instill the deep belief that life CAN be free of unnecessary worries and it all starts with reaching a level of authenticity and living with gratitude.

Don’t let external circumstances dictate what you do, whether you can do it and where you want to go. Create your own circumstances. You are responsible for you, there is no externalizing or blaming the outside world for what happens to you. It’s all a matter of choice. As Bob so beautifully says, “Change is inevitable but personal growth is a choice”.

Dream big, live with an open mind and open heart, and remember only one thing… the bigger the dream, the deeper the fears you will need to face and overcome, HOWEVER, what you will reap from your journey to empowerment will be greater than the dream itself.
